The Home Builders Association of Tuscaloosa, Inc. works to uphold professional business standards.  Our promotion of ethical practices benefits the building industry, the consumer and the community.
Promoting Industry
The HBAT finds positive ways to create visibility by putting the industry’s best foot forward with projects like new home showcases, parade of homes and educational and community activities.

Whether you’re a builder or associate, you will find the contacts you make at our association functions as well as the services provided to association members to be invaluable to your business.
Membership Meetings
Share ideas and information with fellow builders and associates at our HBAT’s monthly meetings. Special programs are designed to educate, inform, inspire and keep you up to date on trends in the housing industry.
HBAT receives numerous calls a month for industry contractors and suppliers and our NEW website is growing in "hits" per month.  When we receive calls inquiring about specific categories of businesses and how to receive contact information about them, ONLY HBAT members are referred.  The HBAT online membership directory information link, Tuscaloosa Contractors Guide, and this website are used by members and non-members as resources for business listings.
Sponsorships & Advertising Opportunities
HBAT members have many resources in which to market their company products and services.  Members can choose from sponsorships and advertising opportunities for such events as the Annual Parade of Homes, HBAT Tuscaloosa Build Back Project House, monthly "Lunch & Learn" membership events, quarterly General Membership Events, annual golf tournament, monthly e-Newsletter, HBAT Membership Directory, website and many other events throughout the year.
Vocational Education
Professional skilled tradesmen are the life-blood of our industry.  The Home Builders Association of Tuscaloosa, Inc. (HBAT) and the Home Builders Association of Alabama (HBAA) offer assistance to our local technical schools and community colleges in structuring and promoting related vocational programs.
The HBAT Alabama Builders Political Action Committee is a non-partisan committee organized for the specific purpose of raising funds to support pro-housing candidates of all parties at the state and local levels of government.  Contributions to Build-PAC are an investment in the future of your business and the home building industry as a whole. It is essential that we are able to support the candidates that understand and will fight for the issues important to us when they are in office. Candidates who receive support from Build-Pac know our critical issues and understand the depth of that support because it comes from thousands of builders and associates across the state. Build-Pac contributions are the key to our being able to promote a pro-housing agenda in the legislature and local governments statewide.

The Alabama Home Builders Self Insurers Fund (AHBSIF) was established in 1984 to provide all eligible members of the Home Builders Association of Alabama an affordable market for workers compensation coverage.  Designed for builders and contractors who are subject to the revenue fluctuations in the homebuilding industry, the AHBSIF Fund offers participants the option of quarterly or monthly payments based on the payroll for the previous period. Residential and light commercial builders, subcontractors, suppliers, and other businesses affiliated with the construction industry benefit from Fund participation.
